  • Of course you don’t have to, you could always use a Monterey Jack cheese or cheddar cheese, or even a combination of the two, but if you really want a creamy smooth sauce, go with Velveeta.
  • Cheese – Now I hardly ever use Velveeta, but sometimes you just have to if you want the most silkiest and smoothest cheese sauce.
  • Milk – Any type will work, dairy or non dairy.
  • Flour – I used all-purpose flour, cornstarch can be used for a gluten free alternative.
  • Butter – I always use unsalted to control the sodium.
